NITI AAYOG and BHARATIYA SHIKSHA MANDAL in collaboration with Prem Chand Markanda S.D. College For Women, JALANDHAR (Punjab) India organized Online Webinar on The theme: “ Teacher’s Role In NEP Implementation : A Way Forward Towards Atmanirbhar Bharat”

 



Registration

The Registration Process began  on 2nd April,2021.  Distinguished Scholars and  Professors from different universities and institutions enrolled themselves as  delegates. Around 455 participants attended the webinar with great enthusiasm.

 

Inaugural Session

The Inaugural Session began at 10:00 a.m. as scheduled with the invocation ceremony with  chanting of Lord Ganesha’s Vandana.Mrs Alka Sharma, Head PG Department of Commerce and Management and  Convener of the event  briefed the August gathering about the main threads of the webinar. She explained that the National Education Policy 2020 announced by incumbent Government, is a major step towards making India a knowledge hub to tackle “brain drain” , to “nurture creativity”, enhancing “employability” and inviting foreign institutions to set up campuses in India. She also gave a brief introduction of the eminent speakers.

 

Welcome Address

Principal  Dr. Kiran Arora  welcomed  all the renowned dignitaries and officially welcomed all the participants and guests. She strongly urged the gathering of the intellectuals, to work towards better policies and their effective implementation to make Indian  education system employment oriented.

 

Keynote Address

Honorable.Dr. Sanjeev Sharma Vice Chancellor Mahatma Gandhi Central University Motihari Bihar, Delivered the Keynote Address and highlighted the main theme of the seminar and need to take  forward the higher education  institutions in India at International standards. He said the teaching and learning, vital and crucial academic activity of any education institution, needs rigorous planning, accountable and responsible execution, teamwork and coordination.

 

Presidential Address

Esteemed  Dr.Pramod Chand Markanda,Secretary Governing body PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar was the Chief Guest of the day. In his Presidential Address, he focused on the quality initiatives to be adopted by the universities and higher education institutions to achieve the global level of benchmarking. These best practices are the way of doing something that is usual and expected way in a particular organisation to enhance the quality in  general. He added that these practices add to commendable value to the institution and its stakeholders.

Dr. Devinder Singh  ji, Professor at Department of Laws, Coordinator at Dr B.R. Ambedkar Centre and Secretary to Vice Chancellor Punjab University, Sanyojak Bhartiya Shiksha Mandal, organizer of the webinar Enlightened the audience with his remarkable views about quality initiatives and their practical approach towards implementation of New Education Policy. He said that foremost achievement of of Higher Education institutions was surely  to put Indian economy on higher growth  trajectory.

 

Interactive Session and Vote of Thanks

It was followed by the Vote of thanks by Nodal officer of the webinar Mrs. Sangita Sharma Head, PG Department of Economics. She expressed gratefulness to the eminent speakers, distinguished  guests,  faculty members and students for their cooperation for the successful conduct of the webinar. After the lectures there was a discussion related to the queries raised by the intellectuals on the proper implementation of National Education Policy  in the Interactive Session.On the whole the webinar was an experience of intellectual discourse in view of arriving at practical involvement  in the field of education. It provided an excellent platform for interaction between the intellectuals on the above said topic of great practical utility.
