Investor Awareness Program On “Financial Literacy And Awareness” In Collaboration With BIAP

The PG Department of Commerce and Management conducted a virtual Investor Awareness Program on “ Financial Literacy and Awareness “ in collaboration with Board of Industry Academic Partnership (BIAP) on 26th September, 2022. BIAP is a youthorganisation that is closely related with various corporates, institutions, Associations, Colleges, Co-working spaces and Government Organistions with the aim of spreading awareness on Finance related subjects. The key aspects of the program was to provide investor education as a strategy to enhance investor protection, promote investor confidence and foster investment engagement in financial planning and decision-making. The resource person for the program was Ms. Daksha Gogia , a trainer for financial Literacy and investor education board of industry Academia Partnerships with post graduate degrees in business management from UPG College, Mumbai the importance of Financial Management was highlighted by giving practical examples from the business world. The working of the financial market, both primary and secondary market was discussed. Ms. Daksha explained that the key rule of investment in the security market is to start an early stage when mutual fund investment like SIP can be a very good option. The Program also covered how the share market functions, factors that affect the share prices, regulations of the stock market, how to reduce risk while investing and the investor Grievance Redressal Mechanism. The program was attended online through Zoom platform by around 160 students of the PG Department of commerce and Management B.SC (Economics) and BCA and also the faculty members from commerce ,computers and economics. The session was very knowledgeable for the students and would go a long way in making them informed investors in the years to come.
