On
25th August, 2023 (Friday), PG Department of Commerce and Management organized
a guest lecture on the topic “Motivation and Life Skills”. The objective of
this session was to motivate the students and inspire them to achieve their
goals. It was focused on building an approach towards life and using vital life
skills to accomplish one’s goals. The speaker for the lecture was a versatile
personality, Mr. Rupansh Ashwani, CA, MBA, CFA & CEO-Agass. He explained
that, one can achieve anything in life, if there are three main
things, i.e., meditation, dedication, commitment. He also stressed that
meditation should always be a prioritized as meditation brings clarity into
one’s mind and helps one realize one’s goal.
He
underlined that one should never take revenge in life and complain about the
adversities of life as it will only end up making us feel unrested and
demotivated. He illustrated life examples of Thomas Alva Edison and Mukesh
Ambani to prove that difficulties and failures are stepping stones to success.
He also brought to the limelight that focus and commitment are the two
essentials that help us in overcoming our difficulties. He explained that the
universe is based on a paradox that chasing a thing pushes it further far off.
As per him, one must be such a personality that things and people will
themselves be attracted towards one. While choosing friends, he added, one
should learn to choose people wisely as their friends.
He
said that revenge and hatred are two negative feelings which make life more
complicated. Taking revenge will lower standards and make the person more
negative. His mantra for success and
happiness was that “you are enough for yourself”, “you will never be defeated”
and “you must enjoy one’s own company”. It was an interactive session in which
students enthusiastically raised valid questions, which were satisfactorily
answered. He concluded the session by saying that life is very uncertain, one
should live one’s life to the fullest and one must make a bucket list of
things. He also emphasized that one should always keep moving in life and one
should never have a low self-esteem. 62 students of B. Com Sem I, B. Com
(FS)Sem I and faculty members of PG Department of Commerce and Management
attended the program. It was a knowledgeable session that gave guidance and
deep insights about the life skills that will help students excel in their
lives and attain their goals.
