The session started with a lamp-lighting ceremony.
The resource person introduced the topic by giving details regarding digital
transformation, and he highlighted that there are three stages of digital
transformation, i.e. first - Digitization – “fixing the past”, second -
Digitalization “focusing on the present,” and lastly – Digital Transformation –
“creating the future." Further, he highlighted how India has to evolve and
transform itself digitally and create future job avenues for the upcoming
youth. He said that India still has to gather more peace and momentum to accomplish
the goal of digital transformation, as the level of digitalization will affect
employment. He shared the research by the ITU International Telecommunication
Union, UN Agency and discussed the readiness of digital transformation in
emerging economies, in which India is showing moderate possibilities. He
highlighted that good governance and collaborative governance are the two main
essentials for the digital transformation of India, which will further improve
the entrepreneurship level in India. He said India, being a member of the ASEAN
Region, stands out as one of the advanced regions, achieving an overall unified
framework score of 57% vs. South Asia's 43%. Discussing the World Bank Group
global digital economy framework, he explained emerging digital opportunities
and challenges. We’ll provide new dimensions for the digital economy, which
include digital infrastructure, digital public platforms, digital financial
services, digital businesses, digital skills, and a trust environment. This
will ensure a better platform and ecosystem for entrepreneurship. He also
discussed the entrepreneurship skills that are much needed by youth in the
current digital era. Further, he added that digital transformation is a key
process that will boost entrepreneurship by not only enhancing digital
employability but also physical employability.
